Kristina Andrew’s Wedding

Kristina’s makeup and hair turned out beautiful! I can’t wait to show you pictures taken by Mizu-k Photography! It was such a tease looking at the little screens on their cameras!

The bride requested very natural makeup, airbrush, and updo. She looks so elegant.. <3

Marcella (first picture below wearing purple tube) contacted me to do makeup and hair for her and the bridal party. I did Marcella and the two Moms. The rest had their makeup done by Amber, and hair by Billie. Everything turned out really nice!! So happy to have met everyone, congratulations Evangeline!!

Congratulations to Ann & Grant :) It was indeed a beautiful wedding and I can’t wait to show you more pictures from the photographer Christine Nguyen! For now I have some pictures with bad lighting/angles from my camera. Chi Binh An requested an updo for the evening (I didn’t get to take a picture of how the hair turned out in the morning, hopefully I will update you with some more pics!) Enjoy!

Yay! Got some more pictures. Enjoy!

“Hi Tammy! I have to say that you did a fabulous job on my makeup and hair. I loved it a lot. I cried and it did not run, which made me really happy. You are very welcome to use any of the pictures you want. Will talk to you later em.” – Chi Binh An via Facebook

Wendy Su’s Trial

Drove down to Morgan Hill for Wendy Su’s trial. She wanted fuller and longer hair length so I suggested hair extensions. I worked with them with a bunch of curls and this is how it turned out: beautiful! A bunch of long cascading curls. For her makeup I suggested airbrush also. At first I did more of a slightly dramatic look on her eyes but toned it down to more of a subtle yet bold look. Enjoy!

I encourage everyone to think outside of the box, not JUST Yelp.

Filed under: About Me — tammydo @ 10:56 pm

This is about the reviews on my Yelp page. There are some things I’d like to point out to EVERYONE…

It’s NOT true that I never use moisturizer to prep my client’s skin. The first thing I do besides sanitizing my hands with alcohol is ask if they have any moisturizer on. There’s a few moisturizers that I use depending on the skin type, which I analyze as the second step. Could have been that I forgot to put moisturizer on one person, they forgot that I’d asked and replied yes, or they forgot that I put it on them. I’m putting a bunch of things on your face how do you know if it’s moisturizer or not? Then please ask me, I’d be more than happy to tell you exactly what I’m doing. In addition, I sometimes call my moisturizer “primer”, since it’s a way to prep and “prime” your skin. So I did put moisturizer on your face and you did not realize it. Please do not be confused with the terms that I use if you are not familiar with them, let me know and I will explain them to you. Yes I’m willing to accept constructive criticism but I cannot stand here and do nothing when I am being falsely accused of something. I just want to straighten some things out and to encourage other readers and potential clients out there to think outside the box. Each review on my Yelp page represents an experience from one person. No one should rely on a Yelp review alone to consider my service. I am here to answer any questions that you may have.

Yes I am new to hairstyling but everyday I’m learning new techniques to improve my skill. After this review I have noticed a different way to tease and shape the crown area of the head and think it’s turning out great every time and have been using this technique since. I’ve been getting clients who claim it’s hard to tease their hair but are amazed at the height that I have given them. Everybody should be given a chance to do something in order to improve right? I am grateful for clients who trust me, because of you I have gotten better with all the things that I try my best to do. Constructive criticism helps me to strive for improvement, but most of the time I already know myself what I need to work on. You want me to be honest and tell you what I can do and can’t do, well I’ve said it. Today, whatever challenge you bring to me I feel confident enough to take on.

I used to use those Model21 lashes from Vietnam. Yes I do agree they were a bit too stiff/shiny for my taste so I’ve switched over to more natural looking ones made in the States. These are 100% real human hair! :)

I don’t have many reviews on Yelp but that does not mean I do not have many happy clients. There is a plentiful number of people who I have worked with that has not yet given me a review but keep in mind that these people are EXTREMELY HAPPY with their results. I hope you all will think outside of the box on this one. Look at my portfolio and blog and decide for yourself. Thanks for reading! <3

Anna Vuong’s Trial

Did makeup & hair trial for Anna. She requested more of a grey/black color for her eyes. I kept the lids a lighter/goldish color to accentuate the depth and to bring out her eyes. Anna said that the height of the tease up top was perfect. :)

After having a few trials with other makeup artists, she decided that she would like to book me for her wedding in October!! Enjoy!
